Marketing Rockstars Festival

With 2000 attendees, the second edition of the Marketing Rockstars Festival in Austria was fully sold out. I was invited to give a keynote during this very well organized and inspiring one-day event.

Zooming in on online reputation and issue management, I felt a bit like the odd man out between all those marketeers. But at the same time I think my talk added an interesting layer to the event’s program just as well.

The HSMAI is a global association for the hospitality sector. The Dutch branch invited me to speak about KLM’s social media strategy at one of their educational events.

Organized in cooperation with RevenueProfs, the event was planned on a lovely spring day. Still, the majestic room in the historical Royal Tropics Museum was completely filled.

The Social Media Tourism Symposium (SoMeT) is a yearly social media conference held in the United States, Europe and Australia. At each of the conferences, where tourism, digital and marketing come together, many hundreds of destination marketing professionals gather to get inspired and exchange ideas.

The organizer, Destination Think!, invited me to come over and do a keynote and an interview at the Nashville event. I was impressed by the beautiful spacious set-up with plenty of work space for all the attendees.

Social Media Week

Held simultaneously in an increasing number of global cities on six continents, Social Media Week is one of the world’s largest social media events. With yearly 70,000 attendees and 5,000 speakers, the event connects more than one million people through social and mobile.

In close concert with RauwCC, the organizer of the Rotterdam event, I decided to do the first ever Social Media Week tour: speaking in Berlin on Monday, London on Tuesday, and Rotterdam on Thursday. The initial plan was to add Miami on Wednesday, but that turned out to come with a bizarre flight plan. I loved the event. Kinda small and intimate in Berlin, beautifully set up in London, and just a blast in Rotterdam. This inspiring event certainly deserves a big recommendation.
